While Welwitschia School offers Namibian Curriculum education to learners in grades 1-12, its unique focus is on specialising on overcoming barriers to learning for children with dyslexia, ADD, ADHD, and epilepsy. Our school creates a safe and nurturing environment that allows each student to complete his or her school career and achieve as high a standard as he or she possibly can, irrespective of their particular learning barriers. Class sizes are on average 15 learners per teacher to ensure each individual receives sufficient attention.
Our vision is to provide 700 children with academic and extra-curricular learning by 2021, currently the school is the only one in the country which primary focus is on children with learning disabilities. 16,9 percent of children under 10 years in Namibia have a disability.
Our goal is to raise USD 30.000 to enable underprivileged children to receive an education that they would not be able to get in the public school system.
