Established in the year 1997 as the first national non governmental organization in India to support the development of comprehensive services for deafblind people.
A deafblind child is both deaf and blind, often with additional disabilities. These children have complex needs which stem from the profound nature of their impairments. Because 95% of what we learn comes through sight and hearing, deafblind children are the most vulnerable in the world. Deafblind children are most marginalised and poor, who have least access to opportunities including education.
With the active support of our partners, in a decade we have been able to reach out to more than 57,000 deafblind persons and currently providing sustainable services across 21 states in the country.
We believe that it is possible to create a world in which all deafblind children and adults can be full and active members of society.
