Grassroots Tanzania is a not for profit organisation founded in 2013 by husband and wife partnership, Martin & Charlotte Hopley. Grassroots Tanzania works in Community Conservation & Education Development working in the remote parts of the country. Our inaugural Project is at Itumba Hill Singida.
Tanzania’s environment is being destroyed at an unprecedented rate unseen by many due to the isolation of villages, and lack of educational understanding of the damage to the environment. Grassroots Tanzania seeks to work with these communities not only preventing further damage to the environment but also running projects to restore the fauna and support the communities with educational programs. Villages are provided with the tools for self reliance and sustainability to enable them to be independent and non reliant on aid overtime. By developing an effective working model, we seek replicate this across Tanzania within 5 years.
