On 11th February 2010, just three days shy of Valentine’s Day and the first day of Chinese New Year, the Children’s Cancer Foundation set up a stall at the Coca-Cola Singapore office to raise funds. The Children’s Cancer Foundation sold handmade silk-woven tulips, made from recycled materials which would otherwise have been thrown away after the production of silk. Coca-Cola Singapore associates flocked to the stall and contributed a total of $727.55 over the span of a mere two and a half hours.
This was not the first time Coca-Cola Singapore has worked with the Children’s Cancer Foundation. On 12th September 2009, Coca-Cola Singapore donated SGD 2,000 to the Children’s Cancer Foundation by participating as a Platinum Sponsor in Twestival, an event organized to raise funds for the Children’s Cancer Foundation while generating awareness of the social networking site.
