The Adopt-A-School Program was developed by Order of Kush International and is designed to get children in different parts of the world to start early in their development talking with each other. In this way, we think, future generations will grow up knowing more about how others live. The program's main function is to unite children from schools in the United States with children in poorer countries of the world, helping to raise money, if necessary, to buy books, pay for uniforms, buy food and other essentials as they get to know each other. The children in American schools will raise money through such things as bake sales, walkathons and other fundraising events. The children in other countries reciprocate by sharing their experiences, teaching about their customs and ideas. The primary interface for both parties will be computers installed in participating schools and with Skype accounts for the children to talk face to face. The biggest need is funds for computers.
