A friend of mine (Alex Flynn) has been diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease, at the age of 37. He is married and father to 2 active boys.
Alex is aiming to raise £1 million for Cure Parkinsons Trust, and I am aiming to help, by doing my part and racing 1 million metres in a year, starting with the Henley ½ Marathon in October, the race where we first met. The total distance is equal to 24 marathons, although the events I have chosen are not all marathons (see News for race details).
Both of us have struggled to get much corporate sponsorship, even though this sponsorship is only to cover the race entry fees and training costs (i.e. replacement kit, etc) so is minimal. But even so we are still looking to raise the challenge profile and get a good named Corporate Sponsor on board.
In exchange we would promote the company via clothing, websites etc. If anyone can help us on this challenge by either sponsoring us both or helping with equipment etc we would be extremely grateful.
