Smile Liberia International, Inc. recently announced plans of hosting a Gospel Musical Concert later on this year; under the theme: “Serenade to Educate”. Proceeds from the concert will support Smile Liberia’s School Adoption Program. The aim of the School Adoption Program is to identify sub-standard schools in the poorest Liberian communities (1 community per county) and provide these schools with academic, infrastructure, and community development. Successful completion of each project will result to underprivileged children improving
their overall basic academic skills, and bridging technological gaps; teachers having the opportunity to become better educators by gaining new holistic approaches to teaching; and the community gaining for its children the hope of a better future. The program is in alignment of Smile Liberia’s mission to provide educational support to underprivileged children in the most impoverished communities of war ravished Liberia. The program will provide these children with various supports including: school supplies, textbooks, uniforms, scholarships, school renovations, feeding, etc.
“Serenade to Educate” will bring together the voices of Gospel choirs from various community churches in Charlotte, as well as performance from featured Gospel groups and artists from around the country, in a 3-hour long concert. Tentative dates for the concert have been set between the months of September and October. However, a finalized date will be announced early next month.
