HEALTH CARE:
We have had some wonderful news that The African Book Box Society has been able to raise funds for a CD4 machine. "A CD4 count machine, which determines the strength of the immune system and readiness to begin taking ARVs." These machines cost approximately $50,000! It will make an enormous difference to the Mdabulo HIV/AIDS CTCentre as at the moment we have to await the files from Mafinga Hospital (50klms away) on their clinic days fortnightly and they sometimes forget them. We are in the process of equipping the Lab for this purpose. We can then test, diagnose and administer treatment for thousands of villagers. At the moment, during these fortnightly clinics in temporary accommodation, 300-400 villagers arrive daily for their ARV's! The building of the HIV/AIDS CTCentre was funded largely by Mufindi Orphans Inc.

The much-anticipated extension to the Mdabulo Health Facility is progressing. Construction of the walls to the height of the window frames is now complete.
This extension will include an x-ray room, two surgical theatres, a dental clinic, optical workshop, and other examination/consulting rooms. Our hope is that the facility will attract professional volunteers that will give their services to this community at various times over the year. We are now on the lookout for more equipment to ship over.
CHILDREN'S VILLAGE (Orphanage) :
A Vocational Centre is being added to the Children's Village which has been started by funds from the Play our Part Charity.
This will include computer training, life skills etc., for those that are not able to attend Secondary school which in Tanzania has to be paid for + uniforms, books and stationery. Whereas Primary Schools which are compulsory but free.Childlren still have to attend in uniform, if a child doesn't have a uniform they are not allowed to attend, if they don't attend the families get fined! Hence we provide as many orphans as possible with a free uniform!
