The Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation (KDSF) is made up of seven different centres throughout Malaysia, committed to the welfare of children with Down Syndrome, its main focus being the education of these children from 2 months to 6 years old. KDSF is a non-profit organization with tax-exempt status, relying solely on donations and fundraising efforts to maintain its operations.
KDSF focuses on the education of children with Down Syndrome from 2 months - 6 years of age, mainly via the implementation of the Early Intervention Programme (EIP), a special educational curriculum.
Apart from that, KDSF also provides other services such as , Parents’ Support Group, Down’s Update, a quarterly newsletter with all centres’ activity updates and various published articles, a well equipped library and resource centre at the National Centre, and organises the KDSF Special Education Workshop – an annual training effort to continuously upgrade its teaching staff competency.
