This is a video of our children from AWWA School who specially made the photoframes for the volunteers during our Volunteers' Appreciation 2011.
Cheers to all the volunteers in AWWA!
For some of the1001 fun pack in this year’s National Day Parade (NDP), the fun starts here in AWWA School as 40 of our students with special needs together with 25 SAF personnel help to pack the fun pack. It is a time where our students get to participate and join in the celebration of our Nation's birthday!

It was all smiles and laughter and a little break from their routine classroom activities. With the encouragement of volunteers, teachers and SAF personnel, they were able to pack 1001 packs in a day.
Packing sounds like an easy task, however for our students, it took them extra effort to do the job. The students enjoyed themselves very much and they had a sense of achievement when they managed to finish packing.
Overall, it was an unique way of celebrating the Nation's Birthday! Happy Birthday Singapore!

The funds was raised by our beneficiaries and AWWA staff through setting up stalls at our Carnival and Donation drive respectively.

"Helping others lifts the self-esteem of our clients and makes them feel good, rather than simply being helpless. We've been taking from others, so we feel it's time for us to give something back and not be so fixated on helping ourselves."
~ Mrs Sandra Berrick, AWWA President

About AWWA TEACH ME’s Soccer Team (TM United)
AWWA TEACH ME’s soccer team (TM United) with physically challenged players was first formed in 2003. The game was introduced as a form of rehabilitation for children and youth with physical challenges who are clients of AWWA TEACH ME. Soccer training is either used as a form of regular therapy or complement therapy that these clients are already receiving.
TM United soccer team played in tournaments and friendly matches over the last few years with teams made up of able-bodied players or physically challenged youth e.g They played in Brother-AWWA Street Soccer Tournament and a friendly match against Johor Spastic Centre. The regular training and bonding has helped not just the needs of therapy but has build confidence into a group of youth to achieve more.
