This short paper outlines the main aspects of the report from the Special Group on Public Service Numbers and Expenditure Programmes of particular relevance to the adult education sector and adult learners. The report proposes a series of cutbacks and rationalisation measures, which if implemented, will substantially undermine the infrastructure of the adult education sector, along with the wider community and voluntary sector.
