Bubu the baby bear is now in rehab, learning what to eat so that he can go back to the wild. The current challenge is to find the $1400 we will need to cover his release costs. All help welcomed!

Yesterday we moved the materials up to the paramo ready to move on with repairs to the rehab cage for Bubu. Many thanks to everyone who donated to help us buy the materials, also to those who helped yesterday with transport and manpower.
Many thanks to all who have helped so far to save Bubu the orphaned bear cub from going into a private collection. He is currently safe in a temporary home while we repair the rehab cage, then we can start the rehabilitation process prior to liberating him.
Big hug back to Bubu!! I hope you get enough money together to transfer him to a bigger place where he can do what bears should be doing
Thank you to the kind people who have donated so far! The Andean Bear Foundation are fundraising for the $3000 they need for materials to repair the rehab cage. Then I will be able to live somewhere bigger while I learn how to be a wild bear.

Kathryn, many thanks for creating the community for us. The update at the moment is that we are still trying to find enough funds to rescue the cub. All donations, however small, will be much appreciated. We need to rescue this little bear as soon as possible, but we can´t do it until we know we will have enough money to be able to feed him.... We will post news as and when we have it.
