Mr. Cameron Reid, a representative from ADRA Australia, arrived in Ulaanbaatar city on June 14, 2010 in order to gain a greater understanding of ADRA Mongolia’s operations. During the visit he was introduced to the Micro Economic Development (MED) program which emphasizes microfinance, poverty reduction, community organization, small business training, and a loan linkage program. He discussed with project beneficiaries about current project implementation, ongoing advancements and also provided some practical suggestions on how to improve further performance.
Furthermore, a marketing specialist from the ‘Hartford Institute’, Mr. Vasili Rudenko, supported the meeting by giving an interesting lecture about sales and marketing to project beneficiaries. Some successful project beneficiaries displayed their products and services such as; ‘Tent making’ by L.Sengee, ‘Trendy national clothes’ by J. Sainbileg and the ‘Faith’ self-help group also introduced their activities to the visitors.
Moreover, Mr. Reid met with some key business partners from Khan-Uul district’s Governor’s office, Khan bank, and Xac bank, and expressed his willingness to broaden collaboration. Finally, Mr. Reid concluded his visit with the statement, “This visit has defined a new relationship trend between ADRA Mongolia and ADRA Australia as well as playing a significant role in the further development of our collaboration”.
