Back from Copenhagen (COP15) ... mixed feeling about how Hopenhagen turned into Brokenhagen ...on the other hand the huge participation (of NGO's, country representatives , companies) was already a success. Nobody can deny scientific evidence anymore ..people mostly disagree on the solution.. I was very lucky to talk personnaly to UK PM Gordon Brown and German Minister of environment (Norbert Röttgen): both were interested to hear that we could combat climate change through replanting rainsforest ..Awareness is the first step, now we need action!
Hello all...fantastic to see you on ammado. Keep us updated and fresh on what you are doing!
Welcome to ammado! We are looking forward to hearing and seeing your observations from Coppenhagen and beyond. Great to have you with us!
Who are we?
WeForest is a non profit organization promoting sustainable, bio-diverse, ecologically compatible, permaculture, reforestation as a way to combat global warming, poverty and water shortages. We raise funds for reforestation as well as promote research and education on food forest permaculture.
What is our objective?
Plant as much as possible, as quicky as possible so that the world can reforest 20 million km² by 2020 recovering more than half of the 39 km² of degraded farmland that exits in 2009 !
What do we mean by a “way to combat global warming” ?
Forests make cloud cover and cloud cover reflects sunlight back into space thus cooling our planet. Permaculture forest can cool our planet as well as providing more water, jobs and food.
