grazie per il tuo messaggio. Rispondo dicendoti che ad oggi AGIRE ha raccolto circa 235 mila euro sull'appello Birmania. Una cifra piuttosto inferiore alle aspettative e sicuramente non adeguata ai bisogni sul terreno. E' infatti di ieri la pubblicazione di un joint assessment svolto da governo birmano, Nazioni Unite e ASEAN che stima che almeno 1 miliardo di dollari sarebbero necessari per coprire nei prossimi tre anni i costi della ricostruzione nelle zone colpite dal ciclone Nargis. Nel conteggio dei fondi raccolti in Italia vanno aggiunti anche quelli della campagna di ItaliAiuta (che ha avuto risultati + incoraggianti), dagli SMS di Unicef e PAM (di cui non conosco i dati) e dalle altre iniziative delle tante ONG che si sono mobilitate per questa emergenze. Va aggiunto che i fondi raccolti sono ben pochi, se guardiamo la maggiore capacità delle ONG di fare sistema in altri paesi. Il DEC nel Regno Unito ha totalizzato 15 milioni di sterline.
