Dearest Friends,
A pleasant day to everyone!
Wow, time really flies!. Next week will be the start of my birthday month, my exact birthday will fall on March 23 and I will be turning 34 "tender and joyful" years old!.
I just wish to let you know that this birthday is really special for me because I wish to celebrate it this time with a beneficiary, which is the Book Project on Norlie Maniego.
Please allow me to share with you a bit of information about my dear sister Norlie. I came to know and befriend her through my community, Ang Lingkod Ng Panginoon --- a Catholic Movement of single, young professionals with the mission of "Christifying the Workplace". Norlie was the eldest in a brood of four children. She had a different childhood experience -- instead of growing up with her parents and siblings, Norlie went to live with her spinster aunts who are sisters of her mom, Esther. She spent her primary and secondary education within Laguna and pursued an Information Technology Degree in AMA Calamba. Most of us know Norlie as a woman of strength, her strength being rooted in her faith in the Lord. In her service as Lingkod Cavite's Branch Woman's Moderator, Norlie was truly an example of humble and committed service to the brothers and sisters. She was a woman with a gentle and quiet spirit but who also knew when to speak her mind. She was a prayerful sister and was blessed with a gift of healing. Norlie succumbed to cancer around May 2009.
I took part in this worthy project because I dearly love Norlie. She was truly an inspiration and a true testament of God's unwavering faith, hope and love for all of us in the community. I wish to invite you to celebrate my birthday by supporting the publishing of Norlie's book. We hope to raise P200,000 by March 31, 2010. I hope that you can share your blessings and make my birthday a memorable and life-giving experience.
