The ammado Foundation is the nonprofit arm arm of ammado Ltd, established as a charitable trust.
ammado has been chosen as the official fundraising platform for Your Big Year, a free competition to encourage global citizenship and social responsibility through enterprise. Your Big Year is the biggest official event of Global Entrepreneurship Week and is currently open to individual applicants.
Winners will be given the opportunity to meet World Leaders, celebrities and inspirational entrepreneurs. They will live in different communities, learn leadership skills and join volunteer projects - from teaching children in South America to conservation work in Asia. They will be given the tools and support to share their experiences via the global media.
Chris Arnold, Your Big Year's CEO says: "This is truly a prize that money can't buy, and we anticipate huge interest from across the globe. Our two winners will experience the trip of a lifetime, get the opportunity to fulfill their potential, develop their enterprise skills and stimulate their entrepreneurial spirit."
A shortlist of 24 people will compete in the Your Big Year final, with 2 routes to secure one of these places. 12 places will be allocated to individuals who have completed a set of tasks. The second route involves fundraising and raising the profile of the participating charities. Fundraising will be facilitated via ammado's global donations platform, catering for 30+ currencies and 20+ payment methods. 24 charities from all over the world will take part, 12 who have been nominated by Your Big Year and 12 of whom have been nominated in a public process and will be voted in by competitors.
As of Tuesday July 20th, 6,000 individuals from 105 countries have registered for Your Big Year. The highest number of participants, thus far, come from the host country, the UK. Suprisingly, Romania comes in at second place, with more participants than the USA, India or France!
Fundraising begins on Thursday July 22nd, so there is still time to put your name forward!
