The next big thing is on OUR site …. and I’m really excited about it!
The good news is that soon it can be on YOUR site too! All of us here at ammado are thrilled with the release of our coolest tool to date - the ammado Giving Widget.
Basically what we’ve done is we’ve packaged up ammado’s cool micro-donations software into a bright, fresh, little space, the same size as an iPhone screen, which can sit on any website, blog or social network profile that can accept embeddable HTML (like MySpace). It has a welcoming image which invites your site visitors to donate. When they click ‘donate’ they are brought through the donation process then and there on your site in an engaging and fun interactive experience.
I think the Giving Widget is great because it allows us all the ability to turn our websites, blogs or social network profiles into miniature philanthropic sites.
Once the widget is on a site any users or passing traffic will be able to make a donation to any of the 4,000 nonprofits on ammado who are signed up to receive donations.Just like on this site they will also be able to take a single donation and share it between numbers of nonprofits. The Giving Widget accepts micro-donations in over 30 currencies and all major payment methods. It is available to one and all – and the best part is…it’s free!
You can get the Giving Widget by clicking on any of the ‘Get Giving Widget’ buttons across the ammado site and grabbing the code that you can then embed on the site, blog or profile you have chosen to host it on. There’s a brochure called ‘The Giving Widget’ in the document library which you can access here.
I believe that making online donations should be easy and fun. I also believe that people are more comfortable giving in a means which has been endorsed by their own friends and family. If we host a Giving Widget we are saying that we believe in the power of nonprofits and we are asking our online network to join in.
I don’t have my own website, but I do have a lot of friends and family who do and I am telling them all about the Giving Widget and am encouraging them to place a Giving Widget on their sites!
I invite you to grab the code, get the giving widget and discover your power!
