The Oxford Flood Alliance is a network of community associations, residents groups and interested individuals who are concerned about flooding in west Oxford and adjoining villages. The group has links with residents in Wytham, Wolvercote, Binsey, Botley Rd area, Osney, Abingdon Rd area, South Hinksey and Kennington. The groups was formed after the floods in July 2007 by residents frustrated with the lack of progress in tackling causes of flooding in Oxford. OFA has identified a series of low costs measures which would greatly improve flow of water in the floodplain west of the railway line in Oxford. Urgent attention is needed in the Redbridge area where an access road to the railway, blocked culverts and silted up channels all contribute to increasing local flood risk.
